Responsibility for Credit Strategy Manager
Responsible for the management and development of staff in two unsecured lending teams within Banking Services - Underwriting (current accounts) and Personal Loans
Responsibility for driving lending standards across the company including arranging such training and guidance as may be appropriate across the network.
Responsibility for the setting, monitoring and control of the company's unsecured lending policy and strategy. This is undertaken in conjunction with the Head of Banking, and involves close liaison with Managers and staff in the Collections and Risk Management areas of the business. This includes target growth of a quality lending book, whilst minimising losses through Credit Risk and Fraud management.
Relationship Management for appropriate third party suppliers to deliver compliant quality service at an appropriate cost.
Initiation and management of appropriate credit projects to deliver incremental value in terms of income growth, cost reduction, efficiency or enhanced service
As Credit Strategy Manager you will be accountable for:
1. Control of the Credit Strategy to drive the quality of lending undertaken and growth of the lending book
2. Control of the Credit Strategy to drive the level of accounts and debt transferred to the company's collections department, and ultimately the credit write offs
3. Line Management of the two unsecured lending teams
4. Provision of guidance and training to the Network on Credit related issues
5. In conjunction with the Head of Banking, provision of Credit data and initiatives to the appropriate Management and Board Committees in an accurate and timely manner
6. Ensure the lending and related policies remain compliant in terms of requirements such as legislation, FSA guidelines and the Banking Code
